PARKROYAL RETURNS TO VIETNAM193-ROOM SAIGON PROPERTY LATEST IN ASIA EXPANSION DRIVE Singapore, 2 January 2008: Singapore-based hotel brand, Parkroyal, today announced its return to the Vietnam market with the signing of a management contract for a property in central Saigon. The 193-room Hotel, formerely operating as Novotel Garden Plaza Saigon, was rebranded as Parkroyal Saigon on 1 January 2008. Owned by Parkroyal’s parent company, mainboard-listed UOL Group Limited, the Hotel recently invested more than half a million US dollars in refurbishing all the guest rooms which at an average size of 33sqm, are among the most spacious rooms in the city. Other facilities include a 300-seat ballroom, function rooms and a signature Brasserie restaurant for all day dining. “This is a strategically important move for the Parkroyal brand as Vietnam becomes increasingly attractive as a business base for multi-national and regional companies,” said Ms Wee Wei Ling, Executive Director of Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts. “Tourism – both international and regional – is also increasing rapidly which provides another strong revenue source for our brand.” “In addition, this property reflects the unique identity that we are building for Parkroyal – a lifestyle brand that reflects a relaxed, genuinely friendly and caring attitude from a service aspect and a holistic approach from the viewpoint of our product and facilities.” The Parkroyal Saigon is conveniently located 2 kilometres from the international airport. It is also within easy reach of the city’s international exhibition centre and stadium which host most large international events. Tourists are also well-catered for with major tourist attractions within walking distance of the hotel. Marketing efforts will be focused on Parkroyal’s traditional markets in Australia, Europe and particularly the South-east Asia region. The signing of the Parkroyal Saigon management agreement brings the total number of hotels in the Parkroyal network to six. Its current portfolio includes two hotels in Singapore, two in Malaysia and one in Myanmar.
