SINGAPORE CAB DRIVERS RECEIVE FREE MOONCAKES FROM PARKROYAL HOTELS & RESORTSSingapore, August 8, 2008: In true hospitality style, Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts will be serving tea and giving away free mooncakes to Singapore taxi drivers. Tea masters from Si Chuan Dou Hua restaurants will serve their signature Eight Treasures Tea from a traditional teapot with a one metre long spout. At the same time, each taxi driver will receive a ‘no-pork, no-lard’ White Lotus Paste Single Yolk mooncake gift (whilst stocks last). This will take place over a two-day period from 10am to 12pm at Parkroyal on Beach Road on 13 August 2008 and Parkroyal on Kitchener Road on 14 August 2008. Through these two mooncake giveaway activities, the Group aims to raise further awareness of Parkroyal on Beach Road (formerly known as Plaza Hotel) and Parkroyal on Kitchener Road (formerly known as New Park Hotel) amongst taxi drivers. “Taxi drivers have long been regarded as Singapore’s destination transport ambassadors. This campaign is an ideal platform for our hotels to forge a long standing partnership with Singapore taxi drivers as they are a key link to the local community and visitors from overseas” says Ms Christina Chua, Vice President - Sales & Marketing for Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts. The two-day giveaway marks the start of a month long sale of mooncakes at Tian Fu Teahouse and Si Chuan Dou Hua restaurants culminating in the nation-wide celebration of the Mid-Autumn festivities on 14 September 2008. The Si Chuan Dou Hua chain of restaurants, an award-winning brand renowned for serving high quality and authentic Sichuan cuisine, is managed by the Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts Group.
